There have been some really exciting developments this month, including further funding to some fantastic programmes – details of which you can find below and on the Bridge website. New content and pages are regularly being added, we hope you enjoy them!

The team have been busy pulling together a communications strategy to complement the Bridge campaign and website. Every month we will be focusing on a specific theme, this month we are looking at programmes and projects that will support delivery of careers and employer engagement activity.

On the first Monday of every month, we will be sending out our Bridge newsletter which will give you a flavour of the main news and ensure that you are kept up to date with resources and key events across our region. Throughout the month we will be regularly adding to the news section, so do please keep your eyes out!

It is now widely known that the more interactions with an employer that a young person has, the less likely they are to be NEET (not in education, employment or training) and will benefit from increased earnings. Our ambition is to enable every young person (11-19) to have at least one employer interaction in every year they are in compulsory education. This mission lies at the heart of our Bridge GM campaign and we need your support to achieve this.

We are always looking for stories and would love to know what’s going on in your school, business or local area. You can tweet us #bridge_gm or send us an email. Building on the success of Twitter’s focused business hours, we have launched our own #Bridgehour which takes place at 4pm every Monday. We want to share, celebrate and support everything that is going on in this field across Greater Manchester. So, if you are an avid Twitter user, or just dipping your toe in the water, please do join the conversation and help us to build the biggest network of schools, colleges and businesses.
