Employers have the power to change a young person’s life
Across Greater Manchester, employers are already working with local young people in schools and colleges to provide experiences of the world of work, through work experience placements, careers fairs and careers talks.
Work shadowing is an ideal opportunity for young people to get an insight into different industry sectors, roles and career paths that they may not have considered.
We want to make it even easier for more employers to get involved and help to shape a young person’s future by joining the growing list of businesses that have already pledged their support.
What is work shadowing?
If you, or your business, is able to offer a young person(s) the opportunity to spend a day or two observing you or a colleague in their day-to-day role we would love to hear from you!
You'll be giving a young person a vital in-depth understanding of what goes on in the workplace and the chance to find out more about your role, the skills and knowledge needed and to learn about the different jobs that people do in one organisation.

Why work shadowing? Let these people convince you.
MEET YOUR FUTURE
You can pledge your support by offering:
Work shadowing — a young person observes a professional in their job to gain a better understanding of the role.
Workplace safaris — a group of students is given the opportunity to visit your workplace and meet with a number of colleagues from across a range of teams/departments.
